ECCOSORB® DSF is a series of free space, resonant absorbers that are available in the 3 GHz to 17 GHz range. These dielectrically loaded narrow banded absorbers reflect 1% or less of normally incident energy (at least 20 dB down) at the design frequency. Unlike typical iron-filled absorbers, ECCOSORB® DSF uses a Silicon Carbide filler that prevents oxidation. As a resonant absorber, ECCOSORB® DSF should be intimately backed to a metal surface.
Applications include lining radar nacelles and masts of ships where normal iron filled absorbers would oxidize in a marine environment.
